Why is Video Content Marketing Important for Your Organization?

Video is the best way to increase brand awareness and customer participation

Share your story with video.

Words and pictures can only go so far to tell your organization’s story.  Facts, product benefits, statistics, etc., are easily transmitted in this two-dimensional format, but do little to engage customers and keep them coming back for more.  Video gives you the opportunity to deliver your message in a way that is interesting, entertaining,  and rapidly processed.  You want your customers to feel like this after visiting your website:

Five to ten years ago, watching video on the Internet was a trial of dedication and patience; a 2 minute clip could take upwards of 5 to 10 minutes to load, depending on the device one was using.  Home Internet speeds increased, but mobile was in its infancy then.  No one wants to invest more time into an activity than they will get out of it, so video content marketing didn’t make much sense.

Fast forward to 2014.  Mobile devices connected on high-speed network have boomed and become the norm, while the market for PCs has contracted.  Use of a wide variety of social networks has sky rocketed.  People, for the most part, are always connected and spend a large portion of their time on social media interacting with content shared by their friends and contacts, as well as companies and organizations.  The 750 MILLION video users online in 2013 is expected to double by 2016.

SO, what does all of this mean for you and your organization? Video is an integral part of your customers' research and discovery process.

  • Websites with video are 53 TIMES more likely to appear higher in search engine results
  • Viewers spend TWICE as much time on websites with video than those without
  • Videos increase the number of clicks from marketing emails by 96%
  • Customers are 85% more likely to purchase a product or service after watching a video

The best way to increase brand awareness, customer participation, and searchability is to consistently produce engaging video content.

Check out this example from GoBall on Kickstarter:

GoBall had a mission to create the world's most compact GoPro camera handle that could be used in all of life's experiences. GoBall partnered with TernPro to utilize the power of video to build excitement and pre-orders for their Kickstarter campaign.  After months of building support, the GoBall was successfully funded by an excited community of customers.

Creating a video was the most engaging way to explain the GoBall and get people excited about using it! Video Content Marketing is an integral part of every marketing strategy, and can be used to drastically increase brand awareness, customer engagement, sales, and customer discovery.

A GoPro Flies Over Detroit

The TernPro Video of the Week: A GoPro flies over the City of Detroit!

At TernPro, we like to try fun new things to do with cameras and video. After watching the movie "Up", we decided it would be awesome to tie one of our GoPro cameras to a bunch of balloons and let it fly free over Detroit! After many trips to the balloon store (who knew it took so many balloons to lift a GoPro?), we were able to get the camera flying (slowly falling) around Detroit! Check out the video:

Spikeball on the Beach!

If you haven't heard of Spikeball, it is an awesome new sport that combines elements of volleyball, foursquare, and tennis.  The video of the week highlights the TernPro team taking a Spikeball set out onto the beach for an awesomely fun afternoon.  To capture the footage for this video, we used a GoPro head strap mount, jaws flex mount on the Spikeball trampoline, and a tripod mount.  We also used the GoPro remote to turn all the cameras on at once!  Check out the video:
